"You're a midwife? That's a great job!" When I hear this my response is, "Indeed! It's an awesome job." I love what I do and learn something new at every birth I attend. I have attended births in Sonoma County for almost 20 years. My midwifery training consisted of internships at Sav-La-Mar Hospital in Jamaica and Casa de Nacimiento birth center in El Paso, Texas, as well as a home birth apprenticeship training with Constance Miles here in Sebastopol.

During my training I raised my own family. My first son was a hospital transport from my planned homebirth that resulted in a C-section. My second son was born seven years later at home in Santa Rosa - a VBAC I am proud of. My own birth experiences gave me a full understanding of what it takes to birth a baby and be a parent.

I have a background in biodynamic and organic farming, permaculture design, art, Ayurveda, Craniosacral Therapy and western herbalism and I majored in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution in college - all of which have given me a great set of skills to bring to my midwifery practice. I am also certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR.

In my free time I enjoy my family, gardening, building alternative living structures, cooking, yoga and volunteer training service dogs for Paws As Loving Support (PALS).

”The relationship we built was built on trust, so when it came time to birth, all I had to do was let go.”
