“You are a great team. Very complementary partners, with different strengths, which is why I chose you to midwife my children. As a health provider myself, I value your professionalism, your keen clinical eye, your grace and gentle bedside manner.”
- Rebecca P.
Almost 30 years ago I was called to midwifery while witnessing a beautiful natural birth. But it wasn't until 2006, after finishing college, getting married, having my own sweet babe (Zachary Wolf) and living a bunch more life - that I was able to truly hear it.
I am now licensed by the Medical Board of California; I am apprenticeship trained, a graduate of The National Midwifery Institute, and I also interned at Casa de Nacimiento Birth Center in El Paso, Texas. I am certified in CPR, and Neonatal Resuscitation and have attended workshops in Ayurveda for Midwifery, Homeopathy for Birth, Wholistic Midwifery, and ongoing advanced skills workshops. I have a good working knowledge of homeopathy and western herbs for pregnancy and birth.
I'm proud of the paradigm KathRyn and I have created for our practice. We work as a team through all phases of client care so that our clients get to know us both, and feel safe and prepared when it is time to birth. We also have a lot of fun!
It is with joy and awe that I have the privilege of attending women and families as they traverse the road to parenthood. It is often circuitous, never boring, and an endless opportunity to learn about midwifery, life and being a human on the planet.
It is hard, time-consuming work, sacred and heart-opening work - and as I often say, we keep weird hours. But I wouldn't want it any other way. We get to witness miracles.
